# Membership tiers
Parallel Collective offers two yearly membership tiers: artist member and supporter member. Current prices are shown on the membership page and at checkout.
Artist members receive a queue number and the right to apply to open residency cycles with a portfolio. Supporter members receive a queue number and are included in the periodic member-benefit selection for a residency stay.
# Payment and renewal
Memberships are paid yearly in advance through our payment processor Stripe. The membership renews automatically at the end of each membership year unless you cancel before the renewal date.
If a renewal payment fails we notify you and Stripe retries the charge. If payment is not completed, the membership lapses at the end of the paid period.
Price changes are announced at least 30 days before they apply to your renewal.
# Cancellation
You can cancel at any time via Manage subscription on your account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid membership year; until then all benefits remain. There are no partial refunds for the remaining period, beyond your statutory rights.
You keep your queue number after cancellation. If you rejoin, you resume with the same number.
# Queue numbers
Every member receives a sequential queue number within their tier, assigned once at the first completed payment. It never changes and is never reassigned.
A queue number is a position in a selection order, not a guarantee of a residency place.
# Residency applications (artist members)
Residency cycles open and close on published dates. Applying requires an active artist membership at the time of application.
A jury of the two founders and invited guest jurors selects on portfolio quality first, with queue position as a weighting factor. Decisions are communicated by email, with feedback where possible. Jury decisions are final.
# Member-benefit selection (supporter members)
Active supporter members are included in the periodic member-benefit selection for a residency stay. Supporter selection is deterministic (queue order): places are offered in queue-number order, with no chance element.
The method and terms are published before each selection, and the outcome is documented. If a member declines an offered stay, the offer passes to the next member in queue-number order.
# Your content
You keep all rights to the portfolio material you upload. You grant Parallel Collective a non-exclusive licence to store and display it as needed to operate the service, for example showing your public portfolio or presenting your application to the jury. You must hold the rights to everything you upload.
We may remove content that is unlawful or infringes the rights of others.
# Statutory rights
Nothing in these terms limits your mandatory rights under Swedish and EU consumer law, including the 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts under the Swedish Distance Contracts Act (2005:59).
# Liability
We provide the membership services with reasonable skill and care. To the extent permitted by mandatory law, we are not liable for indirect losses caused by interruptions or errors in the service.
# Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes are announced at least 30 days before they take effect; continued renewal after that date constitutes acceptance.
# Governing law and disputes
Swedish law governs these terms. As a consumer you can refer a dispute to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN, arn.se) or to the Swedish courts.
