SLASK returns to Parallel Collective Gallery for a third year: a four-week art calendar in the darkest weeks of December. The theme for 2026 is FROSSA. As a noun, the body’s response to cold or fever: shivering, goosebumps, chattering teeth. As a verb, to indulge without restraint, to enjoy without limit, to take more than you need.
Four weeks, four takeovers. Each week a different artist, group or collective takes over the gallery with an exhibition, a performance, a concert, a dinner, a market, or something that has no name yet. Monday to Wednesday is build-up and Thursday the vernissage; the gallery is open to the public Thursday to Sunday, and the week ends with take-down on Sunday evening.
The vernissages: Thursday 26 November (week 1, 23 to 29 November), Thursday 3 December (week 2, 30 November to 6 December), Thursday 10 December (week 3, 7 to 13 December) and Thursday 17 December (week 4, 14 to 20 December).
The participants are selected through an open call for artists, performers and collectives, in any medium and any form, open until Monday 26 October 2026, 23:59. The call text and the application form are at parallelcollective.se/en/open-calls/slask-3-0-frossa.
