Skullcraft VI – Fatal Feast opens with a vernissage on Thursday 1 October, 18:00–22:30, at Parallel Collective, Svartensgatan 10: a table laid in three sittings, 18:00–19:00, 19:30–20:30 and 21:00–22:00.

A seat with food costs 350 kr, with food and wine without limit during the sitting. The plate, one of ten bone plates and each a unique piece, is an artwork at 1 200 kr that belongs to its buyer and includes food and wine at all three sittings.
Since 2021, Skullcraft has been Johan Schalin's and Sebastian Hägelstam's project around the skull as a symbol. For the sixth edition they have joined Helena Perminger and Parallel Collective around the set table: functional objects and artworks to lay it with, and the food on platters and plinths among the works. Where vanitas painting urged moderation, Fatal Feast lays out the pleasures, in the company of the skull.
Sebastian Hägelstam is a ceramicist who often moves in the borderland between functional ware and pure art. His work often touches on popular culture, colonialism and history, not seldom topped with a dose of humour between the serious undertones. For Parallel Collective he made the gallery's ceramic beer tap.
Johan Schalin loves “working with materials that in themselves have a sense of adequacy”: bronze, silver, wax. “I'm more a barrier between materials and works”, he writes. He often works figuratively with symbols from popular culture and history.
Helena Perminger is fascinated by objects which have lost their given place and have become abrasive; they no longer fit. These seemingly “worthless” objects are given a valuable place in her practice. She takes organic materials from animals and nature as the starting point of her process.
On Thursday the exhibition is open to everyone 17:00–22:30, with or without a ticket; the food is served to ticket holders. On Friday 2 and Saturday 3 October it is open 14:00–20:00 with free entry, and the finissage is on Saturday, 16:00–21:00. The exhibition is part of Stockholm Craft Week, and works from it are for sale on site.
On the menu are grilled lamb, boiled potatoes, blue cheese, grapes and red wine; wine is served from age 18. Allergies go to contact@parallelcollective.se by 12:00 on Wednesday 30 September. A ticket can always be transferred, and a plate buyer who cannot come collects the plate later, by arrangement. The gallery photographs the evening. The space has two floors without a lift and is not adapted for wheelchairs.
