Sho Asakawa arrived from Tokyo as the first international artist to stay with us; nine months later Andréa Spartà became the first Stockholm resident. The residency is no longer a promise.
A residency address is mostly a promise until the first artist walks through the door. The door opened in October 2025, when Sho Asakawa arrived from Tokyo, invited for what became Pages Art, his first solo show in Stockholm.
Asakawa works across music, fashion and art, and he brought that whole psychedelic-inspired world into the gallery. The vernissage on 16 October was a full-sensory affair: DJ Siete on the music, Fe3elix building a lights and visual experience for the room, drinks on us. Two weeks later, on the last evening of October, Asakawa sat down for an artist talk at the gallery.
This summer the residency itself came to life. In June 2026 we opened applications for the Stockholm residency and promised, in our own words, a euro summer with one of you out there.
In July we introduced the answer: Andréa Spartà, our first Stockholm resident. Born 1996 in Chagny, France, and living and working in Paris, Spartà moves across installation, writing, altered objects, drawing and sound. His practice is built around standardized things and images made available through the suspension of their intended function; the work inhabits narration without quite telling a story, operating through elusive presence, duration and subtle shifts in attention.
He arrives with a record that spans Kiang Malingue in New York, FRAC Île-de-France in Paris, Kunsthalle Bern, Fondazione Pistoletto in Biella and more. What he makes of a Stockholm summer is exactly what a residency exists to find out.
