Linda Nurk opened Stockholm Craft Week 2025 at the gallery with silk, cocoons, drinks you could rest your nose on, and an artist talk delivered by her alter ego, the Mad Silk Worm Lady.
Stockholm Craft Week 2025 opened at Svartensgatan 10 with Caterpillar Girl Diaries, an exhibition by Linda Nurk curated by Kajsa Frisk together with the artist. Nurk works with silk and cocoon imagery, and the invitation was literal: welcome to step inside the cocoon.
The vernissage on Wednesday 1 October, 18:00 to 21:00, extended the work into the glasses. Drinks were served with a cocoon to lay your nose on while sipping, or to gently tickle your cheeks.
The exhibition stayed open on the Friday from 12:00 to 21:00, and Saturday compressed the rest of the week into one long day: at 16:00 an artist talk, not with Nurk exactly but with her alter ego, the Mad Silk Worm Lady, led by Sharrat Cherry, followed by a finissage with DJs and music, open from noon till late.
Four days from entry to emergence: the show ran its own metamorphosis, and the gallery got to be the cocoon.
