In May 2025, Pompa Shop and Shapeshifter ran a curated pop-up of art, design and vintage at Svartensgatan 10, while the walls changed twice: paintings by Sofia Andersson, then textiles by Lovisa Axén.
For one month in spring 2025 the gallery was open every day, and some of it was for sale. Pompa Shop and Shapeshifter presented a curated pop-up of art, design and vintage at Svartensgatan 10 through May. Welcome inside to the parallel dimension, we wrote, and meant the shop.
The walls kept their own programme. Sofia Andersson showed paintings from 30 April to 14 May, and her statement is worth quoting in full: Imagine a vast landscape painted in a small format, allowing you to hold the immense in your hands, or a landscape squeezed into a corner, unable to take up space. My work is rooted in universal themes such as transience, longing, and lost time. I strive to reduce the subject to its essence, making it simplified. I seek the minimal and the monumental, and I aim to make the unremarkable worthy of attention.
On 15 May the walls were refreshed for Lovisa Axén, with a vernissage from 16:00 to 20:00. Axén, born 1996 and a Textile Art graduate of Konstfack in 2021, was at the time preparing a solo exhibition at Galleri VERA in Norberg and a duo exhibition with Carter Schocket at Seventh Hour Art Gallery in Brooklyn. By then the pop-up was in full swing: vintage treasures had found new homes, and jewellery and crafts were eagerly picked up.
Her labels read like the month in miniature. Steel Solid (2023), recycled Swedish tin, 30 by 50 centimetres. En rörelse i ögonvrån (2025), a portrait of Bella Goth in 400 hand dyed shirt buttons and silk mohair yarn, 22 by 22 centimetres, 3 000 kronor. I Found My Love On The Internet (2023), recycled Swedish tin, 20 000 kronor. Art, craft and commerce shared the room for a month, and the room was fine with it.
