A residency inside a working gallery
Our Stockholm residency lives where we do: at Svartensgatan 10, near Slussen. The gallery itself is the workspace, so a resident works in the middle of a running exhibition space rather than in a studio tucked away somewhere else. Alongside it, the collective keeps an apartment for visiting and exhibiting artists, a place to land for the people our programme brings to the city.
The Summer Residency
The Stockholm Summer Residency opened with a public call for applications in summer 2026, and in July 2026 Andréa Spartà arrived as its first resident. Born in 1996 in Chagny, France, and based in Paris, Spartà works across installation, writing, altered objects, drawing and sound. His understated installations restage standardized, everyday things outside their intended function, and his work has been shown at Kunsthalle Bern, FRAC Île-de-France in Paris and Fondazione Pistoletto in Biella, among others.
Living on Södermalm
A resident in Stockholm lives in the collective’s apartment at Bondegatan 24, in the middle of Södermalm. This is SoFo, the blocks south of Folkungagatan where the island’s small galleries, studios and cafés sit closest together. The workshop and gallery at Svartensgatan 10 are a short walk away, so the way to work is a stroll through the neighbourhood rather than a commute.
Artists we invite to exhibit
The residency shares its address with an international exhibition programme, and some of the artists who stay with us in Stockholm come for a show rather than a residency. In autumn 2025 we invited the Japanese artist Sho Asakawa from Tokyo for his solo exhibition Pages Art. A multidisciplinary artist moving between music, fashion and art, Asakawa showed at the gallery from 16 October to 2 November 2025, held an artist talk on 31 October, and spent the opening week at Svartensgatan 10 meeting visitors over coffee to talk about his work.
The space itself
The gallery keeps the marks of the artists who have worked with us. Simon Klenell’s Alphabet Shelf is a permanent installation, unveiled with a toast at the gallery. The neon glowing Parallel Collective Blue is Josefin Eklund’s design, rendering the logo Kajsa Frisk created. Outside, Malin Viklund’s piece Iakta is installed on the bench in front of the gallery, so there is art to sit with even when we are closed. Even the beer tap is a permanent piece: a ceramic tap made by Sebastian Hägelstam.
